This Week!

Hello Parents and Families!

Do not forget that ILP conferences are starting this week! The last day of class for students is this Monday, December 17th. Conferences for my class will begin Tuesday, Dec. 18th and will go through Thursday Dec. 20th. Have a safe and enjoyable Winter Break, and we will see you when classes resume Thursday, January 3rd, 2013.

See below for the times and days that you have signed up for. I have also sent home slips with your times, and will send your students home tomorrow with an ILP sticker time on their shirts!

The Next Few Weeks

Hello Parents and Families!

This week we are learning new and exciting things, as well as reviewing some things, including:

Literacy/Reading:
Reviewing all sight words
Reading and retelling stories of the week with a partner
Continuing walk to reading programs

Writing:
Continuing to write Winter Narrative stories, and adding details in text using descriptive language (sparkly words).

Math: 
Revisiting counting and sequencing numbers
Introducing addition concepts through math games
Continuing walk to math programs

Social Studies/Project: 
Continuing to learn about holidays around the world.
Reading Buddies activities.

 Special Events/Notices: 
- Last day of school for students this quarter: Monday, Dec. 17th
- ILP parent teacher conferences: Tuesday, December 18th-Friday December 21st

 Reading and retelling stories of the week with a partner "Dogs in Hats, Dogs in Bows"
Continuing walk to reading programs

Writing:
  Introducing Narrative stories, and adding details in text.

Math:
Practice measuring items with sticks, and cubes.
Practice weighing items using a pan balance and cubes.
Continuing walk to math programs

Social Studies/Project:
Learning about holidays around the world.
Reading Buddies activities.

Special Events/Notices:
- Miss Crowl out on Friday, Dec. 7th 1pm-3:30pm
- Field Trip to the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art on Wednesday, Dec. 7th 9:00am-12:30pm (selected chaperones will be notified)
