Welcome Back!

Hello Parents and Families!

Welcome back, and happy New Year! :) I hope the break was refreshing and reinvigorating for you and your family! I am eager to see all of the students' bright and shining faces tomorrow, ready to do some new learning in 2013!

We will be resuming classes for students this Thursday, January 3rd with our normal school schedule. I would like to take this time to remind parents that although the final bell rings at 8:30am, students are expected to be in the classroom no later than that, since academic activity starts immediately at 8:30am. Students who come in at that final bell, or after, usually are not adequately prepared to begin their school day if they are rushing to unpack, eat breakfast, and/or do their morning jobs. Please be on time! Also, don't forget that all those tardy days add up to absences if a student is continually late. Thank you for helping your student be ready for learning by being on time! :)

Due to the shortness of this week, we will be reviewing routines, directions, and expectations, as well as a few academic things...

In Literacy we will be reviewing the book of the week, and taking it home this Friday.

In Math we will review some addition concepts and games we learned the week before break, including an addition dice game called 'roll and record 2' and an addition memory game.

In Writing we will be finishing up Narrative writing about what we did on our Winter Break!

Have a great short week and weekend!

Best,
Miss Crowl
