The Week Ahead!

Hello Parents and Families!

This week we will continue to do some new learning and review some skills from last week. We will be learning:

In Literacy/Reading we will:
Continue to read with a partner the book of the week, "Don Gets A Dog." We will complete and discuss a prompted comprehension journal question on the book as well.

In Math we will:
Compose and Decompose #'s 6-10 and continue our introduction to addition concepts by playing addition games like 'toss the chips,' where students toss a certain number of two-sided red/yellow chips then count and record how many red, and how many yellow they tossed to make a total amount.

In Writing we will be:
Writing lists, acrostic poems, and narratives about the the planets Mars and Jupiter. We will also make an edible model of Jupiter out of jello, as well as a painted model of Mars.

Classroom Notes:
  • February 1 - PTA Free Movie Night - Men in Black III at 6:00pm
  • February 6 - Coffee with the Administration at 8:30am (media center)
  • February 6 - PTA Meeting at 5:30pm in the media center
