Hello parents and families!
The students had a great time learning this past week!
They continued learning how to sequence stories, and retelling the parts of a story; beginning, middle, end, characters and setting. We also compared and contrasted the strength and durability of the "Three Little Pigs' houses.' Check out the pictures below of students building the three types of houses; brick, straw, and stick.
Students reviewed and continued working on creating letters this week, and there should be some completed letters to mom and dad in their homework folders! :)
Next week, our guest reader from Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc, Miss Pam, will be back to read to us on Tuesday, October 2nd, afternoon!
This upcoming week we will be reviewing all letters, sounds, and sight words. Your student should know all of the letters of the alphabet and the sight words listed under the sight words page. Be sure to keep practicing at home!
Don't forget - ILP conferences are next week, October 3rd-5th. I will be sending home your finalized times this Friday, Sept. 28th in your child's homework folder. The students have no school next week, Oct. 3-Oct. 15th.
Have a great fall break, and I will see everyone on Tuesday, Oct. 16th!
Best,
Miss Crowl

This week we will be learning about different artists, like Henri Matisse and Diego Rivera, and creating some art in their image! We will continue learning new letters from our alphabet, and some new sight words!
Extended Day activities also start today, so be sure to sign your child up for something soon! I will be teaching a story hour that includes a story and art/craft to accompany it on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I would love to have more of our Kinders join!
I will also be sending home a progress report for your child in their folders by Thursday, so be sure to check it and see what they could be working on more at home with you, as well as what your student's strength is! :)
