The students had a great time learning this past week! They learned how to sequence stories, and have been practicing how to retell the parts of a story; beginning, middle, end, and the characters.
Students also really enjoyed working on creating letters this week, and we will now move on to creating finalized written letters this upcoming week to various friends, teachers, and family.
We also had a guest reader come to visit our class this week from Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. Miss Pam is show below reading to our students, and will come to visit once a month!
This week we will learn the letters Qq, Zz, Vv, Xx. We will also learn the new sight words 'not,' 'here' and 'the.'
In math we are practicing comparing numbers and measuring items using cube towers; measuring longer vs shorter in names and various items.
We will continue to retell and sequence stories by using story webs and maps through using "The Three Little Pigs." We will also be building the different houses; straw, brick, and sticks to compare the structure and stability.
ATTENTION:
I will be also sending home a sign up sheet this Friday, Sept. 21st for ILP conferences coming up in October: Wed. 3rd, Thursday 4th and Friday 5th. Be sure to sign and return it to get your desired times.
If you have older children attending ASU Prep, your older students' teacher will be contacting you to schedule ALL of the conferences for your children at once. You will receive confirmation of your conference times by next Friday, September 28th.
Best,
Miss Crowl
