This week and next, Sept. 10th-14th

Hello parents and families!

The students had a great time learning this past week! They learned about the artists Diego Rivera and Henri Matisse. We are working on creating art in their image, and a mural will be put up in our Kindergarten hallway modeled after Diego Rivera.

Students also really enjoyed working on creating lists this week, and we will continue to create functional lists like shopping lists and 'to do' lists this next week.

The students are excited to visit our 2nd grade Reading Buddies today and do a reading and art project with them!

This week we learned the letters R,r, K,k, L,l, and P,p. We also learned the new sight words 'was' and 'said.'

In math we are finishing up our counting books and practicing 1:1 correspondence with items as we count; touching each item and moving it forward so we count correctly. We also played a game called roll and record where we read the and counted numbers on dice and recorded the roll we made, properly writing the numbers! Check out pictures below!

Best,

Miss Crowl
